When we sat down to reroll our own roster, the unit tier list told us who to build and the reroll calculator told us the Shard cost — but neither answered the question we kept circling back to: out of the seven traits that actually exist, which ones are worth chasing at all? Sturdy is a fantastic trait, right up until you roll it on a DPS unit that never tanks a hit. That gap is what this page fixes: a tier list for the traits themselves, so you know your target before you touch the reroll calculator.
Quick answer
- S tier: Superior — the universal carry trait, ~2% per roll.
- A tier: Deadly (crit DPS) and Swift (fast-attack units), ~14% per roll each.
- B tier: Sturdy (tanks only) and Blessed (support only), ~14% per roll each.
- C tier: Wealthy (Fastwagon-only, keep it) and Common (no bonus, always reroll away).

Reroll priority order: what to chase first
If you only have Shards for one target right now, work down this list in order. It is the same seven traits above, sorted by how often chasing them is the correct call across a whole roster rather than in one best-case role.
- 1Superior (S tier) — Raises damage, HP and unlocks an extra deploy slot — the universal carry trait.
- 2Deadly (A tier) — Crit-rate trait that compounds hardest on units that already hit often.
- 3Swift (A tier) — Attack-speed trait — strongest on units whose kit already fires fast.
- 4Sturdy (B tier) — HP and defense trait built for tanks — dead weight on a damage dealer.
- 5Blessed (B tier) — Cooldown and sustain trait for support and healer units.
- 6Wealthy (C tier) — The only Yen-generating trait — useful on exactly one unit.
- 7Common (C tier) — The default starter trait. No stat bonus of any kind.

What is the best trait in Anime Squadron?
Superior. It scales damage, HP and range together and is the only trait that adds an extra deploy slot, which is why it sits alone in S tier here — every other trait only wins in a specific role.
Are all seven traits equally likely on a reroll?
No. Superior lands at roughly 2% per roll, Deadly / Blessed / Swift / Sturdy sit around 14% each, Wealthy is about 12%, and Common (the no-bonus starter trait) is the most common outcome at roughly 30%. These are modeled odds — see the trait reroll odds calculator for the full breakdown.
Should I reroll Wealthy off Fastwagon?
No. Wealthy is the only trait that generates Yen, and Fastwagon is the only unit built around it. It ranks low on this tier list because it has zero combat value, not because it's bad on the unit it's meant for.
Why is Sturdy ranked below Deadly if it's great on a tank?
This tier list ranks traits by general, roster-wide reroll priority, not raw power in their best-case role. Sturdy is excellent — on exactly one role (tank). A trait like Deadly is still the right pick on more of your roster, which is what pushes it a step higher.
Does this traits tier list change with updates?
It can. A balance patch that changes trait odds or adds a new trait would shift this board. We re-check it whenever the code trackers and tier lists move — current build is UPD 1.5.
