Beginner Fast-Start

New to Anime Squadron? Do these six things in order - skip the 40-hour mistake curve.

1

Redeem every code first

Free Gems + 200+ Rerolls. Go to the Codes page, copy-paste them all before you spend anything.

2

Pull Fastwagon early

It's the ONLY money (Yen) unit - it pays for your whole run. Epic 2.75% on the Basic banner.

3

Save Gems for the Selection banner

Unlocks at Lv10 - it lets you LOCK one Mythic target instead of praying on Basic.

4

Get a SSJ4 FP carry

Goki or Vegata → Full Power. The path to Gometa (SSJ4), the #1 carry.

5

Reroll trait → Superior, then evolve

Superior is the big one (we model it at roughly +300% DMG/HP - no official numbers exist). Reroll BEFORE you evolve, only on confirmed carries.

6

Do dailies for Primal Cores

Top units are evolution-only. The Daily Checklist keeps you on track.

Common beginner mistakes

Most new players lose days of progress to the same handful of errors. Avoid these and you skip most of the early grind.

  • Spending Gems on the basic pool. A Mythic is roughly 0.05% per pull, so the basic banner eats your savings for almost nothing. Hold Gems for the Selection banner, where you lock one Mythic target.
  • Skipping Fastwagon. It is the only Yen earner in the game. Without it your whole economy is slower, so pull it early off the Basic banner.
  • Rerolling traits too early. Trait Shards are scarce. Rerolling a random Common or a unit you will bench wastes them. Save rerolls for a confirmed carry.
  • Evolving before you reroll. Evolution costs are heavy. Lock your Superior trait first, then evolve, or you risk pouring materials into the wrong build.
  • Ignoring dailies and raids. Top units are evolution-only and need raid materials like Primal Cores. Three daily challenges and one raid a day keep your evolutions moving.
  • Letting codes expire. Codes are free Gems and Rerolls. Check the codes page often, since many are tied to a specific update and disappear on the next one.

What to spend Gems on first

Gems are your scarcest early resource, so spend them in order of value rather than on the first banner you see.

  • 1. Nothing, until Level 10. Bank your Gems and code rewards until the Selection banner is available. Early basic-pool pulls are mostly wasted.
  • 2. The Selection banner. This is where Gems matter most. Lock a Mythic like Shinks (best support) or a damage Mythic that feeds your carry plan.
  • 3. A second core slot. Once your first carry and support are set, use the next Gem bank to round out a tank or a second DPS so raids stop stalling.

Modelled odds and costs can change each update, so check the in-game banner details before you commit a large Gem bank.

Beginner FAQ

What should I do first in Anime Squadron?

Redeem every active code before you spend anything. Codes hand out free Gems and 200 or more Rerolls, which fund your first real summons. After that, pull Fastwagon (the only Yen economy unit), then save the rest for the Selection banner that unlocks around Level 10.

Which unit should a beginner aim for first?

Aim for an SSJ4 Full Power carry. Goki or Vegata evolved to Full Power is the path toward Gometa (SSJ4), the top DPS carry. Pair that with Fastwagon for economy and Shinks for support, and you have a core that clears early raids.

Is it worth rerolling traits as a new player?

Only on a confirmed carry, and only once you can spare the Trait Shards. Superior is the trait worth chasing because it gives the largest damage and survivability boost, but it averages many rerolls. Do not reroll random early pulls, and always reroll before you evolve.

Why do my top units need raids and dailies?

The strongest units are evolution-only, and evolving them needs materials like Primal Cores that drop from raids and daily content. That is why the daily checklist matters even after you have a good roster. Skipping dailies stalls your evolutions.
