How to reroll traits in Anime Squadron (step by step)
The anime squadron reroll process takes about thirty seconds per attempt. Here is exactly what to tap and in what order.
Open the Unit menu
Tap your carry in the unit roster. You will see the current trait displayed under the unit portrait.
Check your Trait Shards
Each reroll costs 25 Trait Shards. Bank at least 250 before you start so a bad streak does not leave you stranded mid-roll.
Tap Reroll Trait
Hit the Reroll button. The game picks a new trait at random from the full pool. You do not keep partial progress between rolls.
Confirm or re-roll
If the new trait is what you wanted, confirm and lock it. If not, spend another 25 Shards and roll again. The old trait is gone either way once you roll.
Evolve after locking
Once your carry has the trait you want, push the evolution line. The trait carries through all evolution stages, so locking it first saves you a second grind.
Before you roll: the one rule that saves the most resources
Reroll the unit while it is still in its base or mid-evolution form. Primal Cores for evolution are scarce, and the trait transfers automatically through every fusion step. Spending Cores on a unit you still plan to reroll later is the single most common waste of resources in Anime Squadron.
Which traits to target by unit type
Superior is not the answer for every unit. Here is the recommended reroll target for each major role, with the reasoning behind each pick.
Target: Superior
The damage and HP multiplier towers over every other option for a carry. The extra deploy slot alone can change how a wave clears.
Target: Swift
Karashi's kit fires quickly enough that the attack speed multiplier from Swift compounds harder than raw damage.
Target: Sturdy
HP and defense scaling let SK outlast longer boss phases. Superior would also work, but Sturdy costs 7x fewer Shards.
Target: Blessed
Blessed lowers cooldowns on support abilities, which means more uptime on the buffs the rest of your squad depends on.
Target: Wealthy
Wealthy is the only Yen-generating trait. Do not reroll Fastwagon ever. Replacing Wealthy with anything else kills your income.
Target: (skip)
Trait Shards are too scarce to spend on units you will eventually bench. Farm Shards and save them for your first confirmed carry.

Open the Unit menu, select your unit, and tap Reroll Trait. Each roll costs 25 Trait Shards. The game picks a new trait at random. Confirm the result to lock it, or spend another 25 Shards to roll again. Note that a new roll replaces the current trait, not adds to it.
What is the chance of getting Superior on a reroll?
Superior lands at roughly 2% per roll based on community data for UPD 0.75. That averages about 50 rolls to hit, which is around 1,250 Trait Shards. To reach a 90% chance of hitting Superior at least once you need closer to 114 rolls, or about 2,850 Shards. Bank a solid stockpile before you commit.
Should I reroll before or after evolving?
Reroll first, then evolve. The trait carries over through every evolution stage, so locking Superior on the base form means you do not need to re-grind on an already-expensive evolved unit. Evolving first and then rerolling wastes Primal Cores and raid mats.
Which units are worth spending Trait Shards on?
Only reroll confirmed long-term carries in S and A tier: Gometa (SSJ4), Puppeteer, Berserker, Woo, Karashi, Vegata, and Goki (SSJ4 FP). Do not reroll Fastwagon because its Wealthy trait is what generates Yen. Do not reroll B, C, or D tier units unless you have no better option.
Is Superior always the best trait to reroll for?
For most DPS and bruiser carries, yes. Superior gives the biggest combined boost to damage, HP, and deploy count. Swift is the second pick for units like Karashi whose kit leans on attack speed. Sturdy is best for pure tanks like Skeleton Knight. Blessed suits support units like Shinks and Rudaus. For every other carry, Superior is the target.
How many Trait Shards does it take to hit Deadly or Swift?
Named traits other than Superior land at roughly 14% per roll, based on modeled odds for UPD 0.75. That averages about 7 rolls, or 175 Shards. To hit one with 90% confidence you need around 15 rolls, close to 375 Shards. The variance is much tighter than Superior, so mid-tier traits are budget-friendly to lock.
Can I get Superior back if I accidentally reroll over it?
No. Once you confirm a new roll, the previous trait is gone. There is no undo. If you had Superior and rolled off it, you need to grind Shards and roll again from scratch. This is why the calculator shows the 50% and 90% confidence budgets: know what you are signing up for before you start.
What are Trait Shards and how do I get them?
Trait Shards are the currency for rerolling unit traits. You earn them from Daily Challenges, Raid rewards, AFK Chamber pickups, and redeeming active codes. The fastest reliable source is clearing three Daily Challenges every day. Building up 500 to 1,000 Shards before you start rerolling for Superior gives you enough attempts to avoid getting stuck on a bad streak.
