Anime Squadron Tier List Maker
Pre-filled with our read of the meta. Drag on desktop, or tap a unit then tap a tier on mobile. Export a PNG or share a link. Last updated 2026-07-14.
Our ranking, not an official one. Komplex Studio publishes no tier data. These placements are our editorial model of the meta - useful as a starting point, not a measured fact. Disagree and re-rank it yourself.
How this tier list works
The board ranks every Anime Squadron unit into five tiers. The labels are our judgement of how a unit performs, not a measurement and not an official rating, and they weigh impact rather than rarity alone. A Common starter and a Secret carry can both be useful, but they do very different jobs, so we grade them on impact in raids and story Acts.
- S · Meta / Carry. Win conditions. These units clear raids and late Acts on their own once they are evolved and traited.
- A · Strong. Reliable picks that hold a slot for a long time. Slightly behind S on ceiling or speed.
- B · Viable. Fine while you build toward better units. Most Legendary and Epic banner pulls land here.
- C · Situational. Useful for a specific role or an early stretch, then benched.
- D · Outclassed. Starter Commons. Keep one for evolution lines (Goki Base feeds Gometa), bench the rest.
How to use the maker
The board loads pre-filled with the community meta so you have a starting point instead of a blank grid. On desktop, drag any unit chip into a different tier row, or down to the Bench. On mobile, tap a unit once to pick it up, then tap the tier row (or the colored tier label) where you want it to land. Tap the unit again to cancel a move.
When your board matches your own roster, press Share link to copy a URL that re-opens your exact list (handy for Discord or Reddit threads), or Export PNG to save an image with the site footer baked in. Your arrangement lives in the link, so nothing is stored on a server.
How tiers are decided
Three factors carry the most weight, in this order:
- Meta damage and role. Can the unit carry a raid or fill a role (support, tank, economy) that the team needs? Fastwagon ranks S purely because it is the only Yen earner, even though it does no fighting.
- Raid and Act value. Units that survive and output through long boss fights beat burst units that fold. Evolution-only Secrets dominate here.
- Evolution and trait ceiling. A unit that reaches a Superior trait and a Mythic gear set climbs higher than one that caps early. This is why most S units are evolution-only.
Rankings are a snapshot of the current patch. Rates and balance can change each update, so treat this as a guide and verify in-game before you spend Rerolls or Trait Shards.
Tier list FAQ
Who is the best unit in Anime Squadron?
Gometa (SSJ4) sits at the top of the S tier as the strongest DPS carry. It is a Secret unit, so you cannot pull it. You build it through the Goki evolution line and the Primal Fusion questline. Shinks is the best support and Fastwagon is the must-have economy unit because it is the only Yen earner. Always verify the current meta in-game, since a balance patch can change rankings.
How often does the tier list change?
It moves with each major update (the current build is UPD 0.75). A patch can buff or nerf units, add new banners, or change evolution costs, and any of those can shift a unit up or down a tier. We review the board on every numbered update and after large balance passes.
Are Secret units always better than Mythic units?
Usually, but not by default. Secret units are evolution-only and carry the highest ceilings, which is why most of the S tier is Secret. A few Mythic units like Shinks, Puppeteer, and Skeleton Knight still rank S because their kits cover roles that raw damage cannot. Read each unit role before you commit your resources.
Should I rebuild my tier list every update?
You do not have to start from scratch. Use the maker to move only the units that the patch notes touched, then export a fresh PNG or share link. Keeping your own ranked board next to ours is the fastest way to spot where your roster disagrees with the community meta.
