How to Get Gometa (SSJ4): Anime Squadron Evolution Guide

Gometa (SSJ4) is the unit most people are chasing, and it is also the one you cannot pull from any banner. There is no lucky 0.05% roll that hands it to you. Gometa is built, step by step, through the longest evolution chain in Anime Squadron. This guide walks the whole road, from the base Goki you probably already own to the finished SSJ4 carry, and then covers the other evolve-only Secrets so you know what else is worth the grind.

The Gometa chain at a glance

The path runs in three stages:

Goki (base): a Common starter you get by default.
Goki (SSJ4 FP): the Full Power evolution, a Mythic-tier step.
Gometa (SSJ4): the final Secret form, reached through the Primal Fusion questline using Primal Cores.

Each step is its own task. You do not jump from a Common starter to a Secret carry in one go, and trying to rush it usually means wasting mats on the wrong stage.

Step 1: from Goki base to Goki (SSJ4 FP)

Goki (base) starts as a D-tier Common, which is exactly why new players ignore it. Keep it anyway. The Full Power evolution turns it into Goki (SSJ4 FP), an A-tier Mythic DPS that is genuinely useful on its own, before you ever touch the final fusion. That matters, because it means the early investment is not dead weight while you grind the rest. You get a working damage dealer at the halfway mark.

Reroll the trait toward Superior at this stage, not later. As covered in the trait reroll guide, the trait carries forward through the evolution, so rerolling on the cheaper Full Power form saves you Shards compared to rolling on the finished Gometa. If you are not sure Superior is even the trait to chase on this unit, the traits tier list ranks all of them by what they actually pay out.

Step 2: the Primal Fusion questline

This is the long part. To go from Goki (SSJ4 FP) to Gometa (SSJ4) you run the Primal Fusion questline, which is gated behind farming Primal Cores. Primal Cores are the evolution material for the top Secret fusions, and they do not come quickly. You farm them through daily activity and raids rather than buying them outright.

A realistic loop looks like this:

Run one raid per day for evolution mats. The daily checklist treats this as a core task, and consistency beats binging.
Clear your daily challenges, which feed both Cores and the currencies around them.
Collect the AFK Chamber every time you log in for passive materials.

There is no shortcut that skips the Core farm. The questline is a time gate as much as a skill gate, and it is designed to take days, not hours. Plan around it rather than fighting it.

Step 3: the fusion

Once you have the Primal Cores the questline asks for, you complete the Primal Fusion to produce Gometa (SSJ4), the S-tier DPS carry that anchors most endgame squads. Pair it with a Mythic gear set (the gear guide explains why the third armor piece is usually wasted) and the Superior trait you rerolled back in step one, and you have the strongest single damage unit the current patch offers.

Other evolve-only Secrets worth building

Gometa is not the only carry locked behind evolution. The other evolve-only Secrets each tie to a specific raid act, and any one of them makes a strong primary carry:

Woo (Shadow): evolve the Mythic Woo into the Shadow Monarch form via Katakara Bridge Act 4. A summoner-DPS that scales with the adds it puts on the board.
Shanron (Omega): Shanron evolves into the Omega form through GT City Raid Act 4. A hybrid DPS carry.
Madora (Gunbai): reached through Ninja Village Squadron Act 4. A zoner that controls space rather than dueling head-on.
Falcon (Dark): a Primal Fusion assassin that wants the Deadly trait for crit rather than Superior.
Berserker (Enraged): built from Eclipse raid drops into a Secret bruiser.

The honest advice is to pick one. Each of these eats Cores, raid drops, and days of farming. Spreading across three half-finished evolutions leaves you with no carry, while finishing one gives you a real one. Most players start with Gometa because the base Goki is free and the Full Power step is useful on its own, then come back for a second Secret once the first is done.

How long the whole thing takes

Players always want a number, so here is an honest range rather than a clean promise. The Goki base to Full Power step is the fast part, doable in a day or two of normal play once you have the mats. The Primal Core farm is the slow part, and it is paced by daily raid runs and challenge clears rather than raw grinding, so a single hardcore session does not collapse the timeline much. Most accounts that play one focused session a day reach Gometa somewhere in the back half of their first couple of weeks, assuming they are not splitting Cores across two evolutions at once.

The bottleneck is almost always Primal Cores, not Gems or Gold. You can have the Gold for the fusion sitting ready and still wait days on the Cores. That is why the daily raid run matters more than any single big push: it is the only steady Core faucet, and missing days is what actually stretches the timeline.

A caveat on accuracy

Anime Squadron is in early access and Komplex Studio updates it often. Raid acts, Core costs, and the exact questline steps can shift between patches. The structure here reflects UPD 0.75, but if a step in-game does not match, trust the game. Check the current raid rotation and questline text before you commit a long farm.

Build the free Goki line first, reroll its trait early, grind Primal Cores through your daily raid loop, and finish the fusion.
